Beautiful horror experience with outdated gameplay
Following the remake, Capcom delivers another stunning horror trip, although the outdated gameplay starts to show some cracks here and there. Resident Evil Zero (Score 80)

Another fantastic game in the Resident Evil series
"Resident Evil Zero" for the Nintendo GameCube is a survival horror game set in the popular Resident Evil universe. In the game, you follow Rebecca Chambers and ex-military Billy Coen as they try to survive in an infected train and its surrounding areas.

The graphical presentation of "Resident Evil Zero" is impressive and makes full use of the GameCube's power. The environments are detailed, dark, and contribute to the game's eerie atmosphere. The character designs are well animated, but the controls may feel a bit stiff, a characteristic of earlier Resident Evil titles.

The story unveils the origin of the T-virus and introduces new elements to the Resident Evil storyline. The game switches between Rebecca and Billy, and players must cleverly utilize their unique skills to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. The collaboration between the two characters adds a strategic element to the gameplay.

The gameplay retains traditional survival horror elements, including limited ammunition, terrifying enemies, and complex puzzles. This adds to the tension and makes the game challenging. The inventory system is also a crucial part of the gameplay, requiring players to think about which items to carry.

The sounds and sound design significantly contribute to the game's horror atmosphere. The ominous music and creepy sound effects create an immersive experience. The voice acting is generally solid and enhances character development.

The game features various types of enemies, each with unique characteristics and weaknesses. This keeps the gameplay diverse and keeps players on their toes. The boss battles are impressively designed and require strategy and precision.

While "Resident Evil Zero" is praised for its stunning graphics and eerie atmosphere, it has received some criticism for its slightly outdated controls and traditional save system. Nevertheless, it remains a favorite among fans of the survival horror genre and adds to the rich history of the Resident Evil series.

Successful horror with complicated controls
Resident Evil 0 is really cool! You'll sometimes jump out of your skin and other times burst out laughing. This is a truly successful horror game for the Gamecube.
One thing that is a bit disappointing: the controls are quite complicated. So if you struggle with complex controls, then I would recommend opting for Resident Evil 4.

Beautiful graphics, but less enjoyable gameplay due to controlling two characters
Resident Evil games have always been a scary, thrilling experience for me. The game's story kept you captivated until the bitter end. Recently, I purchased Resident Evil Zero and I have to say that the game looks incredibly sleek. You can hardly believe you're sitting behind the GameCube. Very impressive. Now, I don't want to be a bother, but I find the gameplay of Resident Evil Zero less enjoyable. Why do you have to control 2 characters? Why not like the Resident Evil 1 GameCube remake, where you can choose a character individually before starting? Resident Evil should be experienced alone. You need to empathize with the characters. You are that character. But well, they've chosen this path. I do have to mention that it's well executed. Once you press the [X] button, you kind of switch to the other: Billy or Rebecca. The gameplay is, let's say, a matter of getting used to it.
Conclusion: definitely a recommendation, although it is a bit more challenging than other Resident Evil games. But hey, who's listening to me complain. Just buy that game!!!

Perfect Storyline for Resident Evil Fans
Incredibly fun game, but then again, I'm a hardcore Resident Evil fan. I have to say that it's the most beautiful one out of RE 1, 2, and 3. And you really should play them in that order. 4 is already out nowadays, and I play that non-stop. Resident Evil Zero is a partial conclusion of the story. So, the storyline is great.
(Apart from the story: I CAN'T WAIT FOR RE 5!!!)
There, had to get that out. Oh yes, where were we. Resident Evil Zero gets a solid 10 from me (probably has something to do with my RE obsession)
