Enter The Survival Horror with Resident Evil Remake
In 1996, Survival Horror was brought to life in its purest form with Resident Evil on the Playstation (1). 6 years later, Capcom decided to create a Remake of this game exclusively for the Nintendo Gamecube... Enter The Survival Horror.

Fantastic survival horror game with eerily enhanced graphics
Resident Evil is a fantastic survival horror game. You find yourself in a creepy house full of zombies and other sinister creatures, from which you must escape alive. But it's not easy, you have to solve puzzles and the zombies keep surprising you.
Resident Evil is the remake of the well-known PlayStation game. The game is largely the same, but the graphics have been eerily enhanced, making the nightmare even more realistic.

Survival horror at its best: scarce ammo and limited saves!
A very creepy game where ammo is scarce and your lives are very precious! Resident Evil was the gateway to a new genre: survival horror. And believe me, this is a truly horrifying game. This game is incredibly difficult because, as I mentioned, finding ammo is very challenging, just like finding herbs (health items). The worst part about the ammo is that it literally takes up space, meaning that when you have your shotgun and find new ammo, it exists as a separate item in your pocket, as unfortunately you don't have space for all kinds of things. It is graphically one of the most beautiful games on the Gamecube. To top it all off, the number of saves you can make is limited, so be careful! This is a true horror game that even gives me the creeps, and that says a lot! In short, a real recommendation for those who want to get a good scare and shiver!

Improved Graphics and Intense Thrills
Resident Evil 1 is the first in the series of 6. Resident Evil 0 was released later. I played this on the PlayStation before, and I already thought it was great back then. But the remake on the Cube is so much better. The creators have enhanced all the graphics and even made changes that bring out the tension and horror on your television even more. From gigantic spiders and snakes to 'simple' crows, you'll jump out of your skin every time. I have all 6 Resident Evil titles, and this one ranks as the 3rd best for me. Only RE4 (2) and Code Veronica (1) I find better.
Goosebumps guaranteed!!

Resident Evil 1 offers a unique blend of horror and puzzles for the GameCube
Resident Evil 1 is the most thrilling game for the GameCube. It takes some getting used to at first because the story progresses slowly, the controls are peculiar, and it's not your typical shooter. However, these are all positives once you grasp how to play the game. The slow-paced story builds up really well, and the controls (opt for control C!) make it challenging to dodge enemies. It's also not intended to just shoot down every enemy you encounter. You need to strategize and save your bullets for when you really need them. Additionally, the game features an extensive puzzle and maze aspect that will get you thinking.
In short, it's an unconventional game but once you get the hang of it, it's so addictive (and I haven't even mentioned the fantastic music, graphics, and thrilling cutscenes). Truly a must-have for the horror/puzzle/survival gamer ;)!

Great horror game with challenging controls
Resident Evil 1 is properly scary, but the controls are a bit tricky at first. I reckon I'm getting the hang of them now, but it's still tough. Apart from the controls, though, it's a fantastic horror game that really draws you in.

Impressive Graphics and Chilling Atmosphere
Resident Evil 1 is a well "ported" game from the Playstation 1. With stunning graphics, solid gameplay, and a chilling atmosphere, you can consider it a worthy GameCube game. It's recommended that you play it with a friend in a dark room for the full experience...

Challenging Remake for Horror and Shooter Fans
This game is a remake of the original Resident Evil on the PlayStation.
I hadn't played it on the PlayStation before, but this game was really very good. The controls are solid, the graphics too, etc...
It is quite difficult though, and if you're not that great at shooters, it's best to set it to easy. This game comes highly recommended if you're a fan of horror/shooter games.

Poor controls hinder gameplay enjoyment
Resident Evil 1 is a fun game with scary zombies and other weird creatures... But the controls are just terrible! The controls are simply bad!
If you struggle with difficult controls, then you shouldn't buy this.
If you can handle that, then you should buy it, because it is a fun game!

Amazing graphics and intense suspense, but frustrating gameplay
Starting off on a positive note about Resident Evil 1; the graphics are stunning, the difficulty level is pleasantly high, the suspense is palpable (especially when playing in a dark room), and everything regarding the game's content is meticulously detailed.
However, the gameplay is really poor, it's nearly impossible to move your character in the right direction; I tried to overlook it and enjoy the horror, but after a while, I decided to stop playing the game; I was getting really annoyed with the gameplay.
Maybe I'll give Resident Evil 1 another shot in the future.

Rating: 5/10 (8 for content; 2 for gameplay)

Poor gameplay and music make Resident Evil 1 unplayable
Resident Evil 1 is, in my opinion, the worst game on the GameCube! The music is terrible, you can hardly kill anything, and the worst part is the gameplay! It's just impossible to play...
