Leave Captain Olimar behind (press the down arrow on the D-pad). 4 Pikmin will carry him back to their onion (those machines where the Pikmin live). You'll take off and witness a fireworks display by the Pikmin!

Take a Pikmin and pick up a bomb. Then let it eat the bomb. The bomb will explode and the enemy will be dead :-D but so will your Pikmin :'(.
Note: this only works with enemies that can eat Pikmin in Pikmin.

You can usually attack the bulborbs without losing any Pikmin. First, throw a few on its head and let the rest attack its body, this way the bulborb can't eat any Pikmin. For the final boss, make a yellow Pikmin eat a bomb and then let the boss eat it. This will paralyze him, allowing you to attack quickly and effectively.

If you encounter a sleeping bulborb in Pikmin, make sure to position yourself behind it and then press the button that commands all your Pikmin to move in one direction, ensuring that you attack its backside. This works best when you have more than 50 Pikmin! With 100 Pikmin, it will even die after a few seconds! This technique also works on other enemies.

If you lock onto a small Bulborb and quickly throw two Pikmin one after the other, there's a good chance the Bulborb will be defeated. This also works with 1 Pikmin, but using two ensures its defeat. The Bulborb doesn't necessarily have to be asleep; this technique also works when it's awake. It also works with a small Orange Bulborb.
