When you're in the early chapters of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, you may encounter a green rat in the harbor. He will ask you to sponsor his expedition to find oil. You can give him 100, 200, or 300 coins. Definitely do this! If you give him 100 coins, he will give you back 300 coins, with 200 coins he will return 600, and with 300 coins, he will give you 999 coins back! If you give him 300 coins, make sure that before you receive the money, you spend all your other coins on gold bars. You can get these at the shop in the underground town. If you don't do this, you won't get all your coins back (you can only have 999).

Can you train your partners twice to make them stronger?
MarioCube |
| 9 jaar |
To make your partners stronger, you can have them train for 3 Shine Sprites with the wizard in Rogueport. But once you've trained them once, you can't train them a second time. Or can you? After you've defeated Hooktail the dragon and earned the bomb as a partner, go back to Hooktail's castle. Head to the maze with sharp spikes where you previously found the key for a black chest. There's a crack in the wall. Make the bomb explode. You'll now find a white arrow. Give it to the wizard in Rogueport from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and you can have your partners trained for a second time.
