Great for Harry Potter fans, but disappointing graphics
This is a pretty fun game, but the graphics are really poor. The classics like Mario and Zelda are way better, this one is also quite ugly. But if you're a fan of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, you really should have this. Score: 6!

Least impressive in the Harry Potter GameCube series, but still worth it
If you look back on it now, this is the least impressive game in the Harry Potter game series released on the GameCube; the other games are more developed and better executed.
However, it is a good first Potter game, where you can see a lot from the book and the movie; the game follows them in broad strokes, like choosing your wand at Ollivanders.
You can freely roam all over Hogwarts and have to go to different parts inside and outside the castle to complete missions; for example, attending classes and playing Quidditch matches. There is a lot of variety in the missions, with a wide range of tasks to complete. It's quite fun that you receive grades for your school subjects and play Quidditch competitively, which boosts your motivation to perform. Apart from the main storyline, there are fun extras like searching for and trading wizard cards with your fellow students.

The graphics are not amazing, they look a bit fake; but because it's a very colorful game, you still feel the magical atmosphere; this atmosphere is also enhanced by the music in the game. The difficulty level is generally quite high (higher than in the sequels), the bosses are hard to defeat.
One downside is that the voiceover for the characters is not done by the real actors, so they sound different than expected.
A good first Potter game, ultimately overshadowed by its successors, but one that should not be overlooked due to its own storyline and level of difficulty!

Atmospheric Harry Potter Magic Despite Dated Graphics and Challenging Controls
A charming and enjoyable yet dated game. Young players, who are accustomed to the new generation (usually relatively easy) platformers, may find the controls, graphics, and difficulty level annoying. Personally, I always struggled with the Quidditch matches (which are mandatory in this part) and a few sections towards the end that I won't go into detail about.
Nevertheless, the game manages to convey the magic of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone quite nicely, partly due to good music and an atmospheric color palette. And one more thing: I read somewhere that every Potter game would be the same, but that is definitely NOT the case. Indeed, the Philosopher's Stone resembles the Chamber of Secrets, but the game still has its own "feel" due to the, in my opinion, more challenging levels and the more linear gameplay.
In conclusion: I have seen much worse (Potter) movie tie-in games. At this price, the game is a must-have for Potter fans. It's also enjoyable for others, as long as you don't scrutinize it too critically.

Challenging and Exciting Stealth Levels in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
This game is a fun platformer. It's so enjoyable that I've completed it multiple times. The best levels are the stealth levels. They are challenging and exciting. Even outside of these, the game keeps you entertained, with a collecting aspect like chocolate frogs. To find them all, you'll need to pull off a few tricks. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a very enjoyable game, I have good memories of it!

Challenging and immersive gameplay in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Harry Potter games have always been enjoyable to me, but the first Harry Potter game remains my favorite; it's a very fun game. The challenges are pleasantly difficult. At the beginning, you might think it's quite hard, but in the end, it's not so bad. Even after defeating the final boss, it's usually not over; you're typically around 80% through the game. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: Best of the Series with Excellent Atmosphere
Harry Potter 1 was the first game I bought for the Gamecube (alongside Mario Kart Double Dash that I got with the GC).
I think it's a very fun game, I've completed it many times. After that, I got Harry Potter 2&3&4 but I still think Harry Potter 1 is the best of those 4. I'm also a Harry Potter fan, and I prefer playing Harry Potter 1 to 3 for the
Gamecube/Gameboy Advance/Gameboy Color and PC. I give the game a 9 for the music, a 6.5 for the graphics, and a 10 for the atmosphere!

Go on an adventure!
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is actually quite a fun game. There is a lot to do outside the storyline, such as exploring Hogwarts to collect Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and wizard cards. This game is especially enjoyable for Harry Potter fans, but also certainly entertaining for children who like to go on adventures.

Nice start, but gets tedious
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is quite a fun game. In the initial levels, you first learn the basic skills before being thrown into the deep end. That's something some games lack. However, after a while, it does get a bit tedious, unfortunately.

Discover secret places and collect magic cards!
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a super cool game!! It's fun to walk around and sometimes you even have flying lessons. If you're bored, you can hop on your broomstick and discover really cool secret places! It's also fun to collect magic cards. The graphics are really good and the sound is also very good. As for the lessons, they're not too difficult and it's quite funny to collect ingredients.
Sometimes you have to go to Hagrid's garden or other very exciting places for the lesson (which are usually really funny or exciting). As for the tasks and story, not difficult, fun, and funny. My opinion: 8.9!! The game is definitely worth buying (especially for this low price).

Best Harry Potter Game for the GameCube
I always find the first part the most enjoyable, in all the movies. But with this one, it's even more special because I think Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is also the most fun game.
It's well-made and enjoyable to play. I have it for the GameCube, (3)DS, and the Wii. But for the GameCube, it's the best!

Fun game, but too many lessons and little action
It's a fun game, better than on the PC, because the graphics are better and the story resembles more the story in the movie. It's like playing the movie, a beautiful game. - Let him spit poison at you first, but try to dodge it by moving forward and then backward.
- Immediately use Diffindo to remove one of his arms, then quickly move back and forth.
- Do the same to remove his second arm.
- Now, swiftly cut off his head and use your Incendio attacks from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. (You need to charge this for a few seconds.) Don't charge your attack for too long as his arms will regrow!
- After a few Incendio shots, he will be defeated.
- You will encounter another Tentacula later on.
