Many features and good graphics for GameCube standards
FIFA 2005 for the GameCube is a solid game. It offers many features and plenty to do. In terms of graphics (for GameCube standards), it's not bad either. You can embark on a career, create your own player, organize a tournament, and much more. I think it's an enjoyable game, and I'm really pleased with it.

Perfect game for non-football fans
As the other reviews on this page mention, FIFA Football 2005 is a perfect addition to a football fan's game collection. However, I'm not such a fan. So, what does someone like me think of this football game for the GameCube?
The graphics are simply good. The players are individually recognizable, even during gameplay. There isn't really a sense of ball control, but it's not just a matter of 'press a button, play ball'. And without tactics, you definitely won't reach the goal.
One annoying point that every football game has: the game remembers which buttons you've pressed. So, if you accidentally press 'shoot' twice to a teammate, they will immediately shoot the ball further. Mastering the controller is therefore very important here.
I haven't really explored the career option. I prefer a quick game of football. For that, this game is perfectly suitable.
So, if you're not a football fan but still looking for an entry point into this sports world, this is your game.

Addictive career mode with realistic transfer system
FIFA Football 2005, a brilliant soccer game. It is one of the best Fifa games ever made. Your career starts at a small club. Your task is to win prizes and climb higher and higher to eventually become the manager of one of the big European top clubs. Try to achieve this by attracting players with a realistic transfer system. And win your matches by playing them yourself. Or by simply simulating the match. The tension rises! Once you get into it, it's hard to stop, it's truly addictive!

Improved Gameplay and Career Mode, But PES 5 Remains Superior
When it comes to competition, I didn't find FIFA 2005 to be a successful game;
PES 5 (PC; still one of the best football games ever made) soared high above this FIFA. Within the FIFA series, it is one of the better ones, although the atmosphere in FIFA 2004 was better. In terms of content, FIFA 2005 is an improvement; you now have a 15-year career mode, better gameplay, improved transfers, players retire as they age, and you can unlock more things. The opponent's intelligence has also been enhanced.
So, not a good game in terms of competition, but an improvement compared to previous FIFAs.

Addictive gameplay with TV-like visuals
FIFA Football 2005 was my first game for the GAMECUBE. Once I started playing, I couldn't stop. It felt like watching a TV broadcast, although it was a shame that the commentary was often repetitive.

FIFA Football 2005 is actually a pretty decent game. However, I do think that the commentary is lacking. It's enjoyable though to create your own player and play with them.

"From small club to big successes in FIFA 2005"
My opinion is: FIFA Football 2005 is a really cool football game with many innovations compared to its predecessors. The cool thing about this FIFA is that you start small to end big. You don't just start a season with AC Milan or Arsenal and easily become a champion. No, you start with a small club (for example ADO Den Haag), try to achieve or even exceed the objectives, and earn money doing so. With this money, you can buy new players to strengthen your team. Additionally, the interest from other clubs in you as a manager naturally grows. This way, you can switch to a bigger club where more money is involved and different tournaments need to be played (for example, the UEFA CUP tournament). This way, you keep climbing higher and can constantly set new goals. This is what makes FIFA Football 2005 a game that lasts a long time.
The game controls are well put together. It has become much more realistic, so simply clicking to pass, causing your player to automatically pass the ball to another player, is no longer possible. This makes the football matches much more realistic, also because the graphics look great.

Create your own player, but boring commentary
FIFA 2005 is a fun game. It's great that you can't immediately play for a big club like AC, you have to fight for it.
But what I like the most is that you can create your own player. The downside of this game is the commentary, it's almost always the same and it annoys me.

Best FIFA game so far
FIFA Football 2005 is the best FIFA game I have played so far. I received it two days ago from mariocube and I was immediately hooked. The passes, the shots, the feints, everything was perfect in this footie game.

Unique career mode with stunning gameplay
This game is well executed and stands out with the career mode that has never been seen in any previous game. This mode is well done, allowing you to run a coaching career for 15 seasons. I find 15 a bit too many since I usually get bored after 7 or 8. However, FIFA Football 2005 is very well done with beautiful commentary and camera angles. Definitely deserves an 8.5/10.
