During the levels, you have to collect as many bananas as possible, which are hanging in the air or obtained by defeating enemies.

At times, Donkey is so small that you can hardly see him, that's why there's an enlarged Donkey in the bottom left corner of the screen so you can see what he's up to.

Sometimes there are objects in the air like enemies or bunches of bananas, you can make them drop down by clapping.

Unique Control with Bongos Makes Donkey Kong Jungle Beat Special
First of all, I want to mention that you shouldn't confuse this game with Donkey Konga. However, it is true that you also control this game with the bongos (although it's not necessary, it does make the game fun and original), but it incorporates much more from the well-known Donkey Kong games.
The difference from previous games like Donkey Kong 64 is that in this game, you can also control Donkey Kong with the bongos. It may sound strange and difficult, but after a bit of practice, it becomes very easy and enjoyable. To move left, you hit the left bongo, and the same goes for moving right with the other bongo. Both together is jumping, and clapping performs a special action. Simple, right?
Personally, I find this the coolest aspect of the game. Visually, it looks great, and the sound is also pretty good, although not particularly original (even though it introduces many new characters). But the main reason I recommend this game is indeed the unique control, which should have been featured in more games (besides Donkey Konga!)

Intense and challenging game, but can be painful for your hands
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is an awesome game, but you shouldn't overdo it, or else your hands will end up all bruised and sore like mine are now.
It's a game that's normally playable, but level 18 is very difficult with that final boss.

Unique Controls with Bongos Make Donkey Kong Jungle Beat Brilliant
DK: Jungle Beat is simply the most original and brilliant game ever. Because which platform game is entirely controlled by banging on Bongos. Moreover, there is a lot of depth in the game! The game may seem simple and superficial, but when you try to achieve the platinum medals, a long learning curve follows. Just looking at the game is more fun than playing so many other games.
You simply must have this unique game!

Perfect for young children who want to play independently
My son received Donkey Kong Jungle Beat for his birthday and then woke up the neighborhood with his drumming. He is 6 years old and he absolutely loves progressing through the game by drumming. We don't need to help him with it, and he entertains himself very well with it. Fantastic game!!

Original and fun controls make Donkey Kong Jungle Beat a must-have
After many people had drummed themselves out with Donkey Konga, the drums started gathering dust. You could only use them for Donkey Konga or stack two on top of each other as a footrest, but other than that, they were pretty useless. Luckily, there is a new game for the drums now. And what a game it is! It has absolutely nothing to do with Donkey Konga, which is important. The controls, in particular, are very original and fun, and are reason enough to buy this game. It may take a bit of getting used to at first, but soon enough you won't want to play anything else. This is already a plus, the low entry barrier. The graphics are good and the sound is okay, but that's not really the point. Unfortunately, it's a bit short, but thanks to its originality and fun controls, this game remains engaging. All in all, it's a fantastic, original, and refreshing game. Bright colors? Cute monkeys? So what, that's part of Nintendo, and if they didn't do that, it wouldn't be Nintendo anymore. This game is a must-have for every Nintendo gamer!

Original and challenging with bongo controls
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat for the Nintendo GameCube is super original. With the bongos (two drums with a clap sensor), you control our chunky ape DK through different beautiful worlds.

Even at home, my kids find it amazing how you use the bongos to jump, run, and even defeat enemies. Special mention for the end bosses: they are really well done!

Playing is very easy, but it's still very challenging to achieve the maximum scores. For me, this makes the game incredibly fun and addictive!

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat: More Fun than Donkey Konga with Beautiful Graphics and Bosses
After I got tired of playing Donkey Konga, I wanted a new game where you could use bongos. But I didn't want to risk buying Donkey Konga 2 because I had finished Donkey Konga after only a few weeks. But then I discovered Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. If I had known that this game is so much fun, I would have never bought Donkey Konga, but this game right away! The graphics are beautiful and you can drum your way through levels. There's a fun story to it, and at the end of each level, you get a giant fruit! I especially enjoy the bosses! The game is definitely most enjoyable when played with the DK bongos! My opinion: Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is a very fun game that I can definitely recommend! It's definitely worth the price! My rating: 9

Fun drumming, but gets monotonous towards the end
When I first played Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, I got the hang of it right away. It's a fun game with all the drumming and clapping, and it remains enjoyable for quite a while. However, towards the end, it starts to get a bit repetitive.

Unfortunately, we didn't play Donkey Kong Jungle Beat with the bongos, but it was still enjoyable because you can play it without that instrument. I still recommend buying those bongos. We expect it to be more fun with that thing. Rating: 6.2 without bongos and 7.0 with bongos.

Great for younger gamers and extra fun with bongos
When I received Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, I really enjoyed it. Having a good time with Donkey Kong going through various levels and defeating enemies. The game adds extra fun with the bongos. However, I do think the game is more suitable for younger gamers, but it can still be enjoyable for older ones too.
